JUST A QUICKIE: LE PIG MAC | COCHON BUTCHER

This little piggy went to market…and it was gewd.

‘Anything but a boar, Le Pig Mac from Cochon Butcher…is a suid upgrade from the Mickey D’s classic.’

Anything but a boar, Le Pig Mac from Cochon Butcher – over on 930 Tchoupitoulas St – is a suid upgrade from the Mickey D’s classic. Piled high with two tender all pork patties (y’know I’m happy already), housemade special sauce, fresh lettuce, American cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun baked fresh and delivered from its sister restaurant, La Boulangerie.

Blissful bite, after blissful bite was washed down with ma boisson de choix, Most People Never Listen; a heady intoxicant based on the Hemingway daiquiri, with Benchmark Bourbon in place of double rum (ice water was given at the ready. Twice as nice on a hot Saturday afternoon.)

LE PIG MAC – Two all pork patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a…y’know the rest.

No fries; no worries. Although chips are a sides offering and easily the proverbial choice at two bucks, I instead went for potato salad – I was feeling those Deli vibes, afterall. Fresh with a tangy tinge of vinegar…a taste spuds yes accompaniment for an overall taste buds yes moment indeed.

ATMOSPHERE: Deli-inspired: order at the counter, take a number and find a seat. Be prepared to wait in line, however, which may put you in a pickle and order more. I highly advise you to do so without remorse. (There were also Duck Pastrami Sliders, Porchetta Cheese Steak, Smoked Turkey Sando and Mac ‘n Cheese…sometimes your appetite takes precedence over your phone. It was ALL delicious, trust!!)
