THE SWEETEST IMPERFECTION

Nope. It’s not the perfect chocolate butterscotch sauce you’ll ever make. It’s not supposed to be. What it is is sweet, smoky viscosity to envelop yourself in right away.

PREP / COOK TIME: 12 Minutes
Makes About 1 Pint

INGREDIENTS

4 Tb – Unsalted Butter

1 Cup – Dark Brown Sugar

¼ Cup – Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

1 tsp – Pure Vanilla Extract

1 Tb – Honey

2 Tb – Sour cream

Pinch of salt

THE NITTY GRITTY

Heat butter in a medium sauce pan at medium high till melted. Add brown sugar; stir to combine. Cook till brown sugar dissolves and begins to bubble. Add unsweetened cocoa powder; whisk constantly till a tight paste forms and is pulling away from sides of the pan. Add vanilla extract and honey; stir till butter starts to separate. Add cream; whisk to combine. Add sour cream and a pinch of salt; whisk till blended and smooth. Pour over vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
