BOLOU WEHO FURTHER DELAYED TILL SPRING 2020
Looks like Bottega Louie’s long delayed launch of its fabled West Hollywood location is now planned for a March 2020 opening; as first reported by Wehoville on December 11th. It was also detailed that the postponement now leaves over 200 recent hires unemployed—according to an unnamed source—with many new/former employees being stiffed paychecks since orientation. However, they all can breathe easily knowing they may re-apply for their positions in a few months; without the promise of employment. Merry Christmas.
The restaurant’s WeHo site was initially set for a soft opening in May 2019, so said Partner and CEO of Bottega Louie, Christopher Bollenbach, during an employee/management meeting in November 2018; to correspond with the 10th anniversary of the restaurant’s flagship store downtown. Now, celebrating its 3rd anniversary of setbacks, the powers that be, or, BHFC (the holding company doing business as Bottega Louie), appeared optimistic—despite Bollenbach’s May launch straying from projection and into the ether—that its doors would open before the end of this year; December 19th to be exact. Plagued mostly by construction issues, one hollow complaint from Richard Giesbret, former president of the West Hollywood West Residents Association, over noise concerns (the property is situated on the same corner as Motherlode, Pump and The Abbey) and me, apparently; the unnamed source claimed heating and air-conditioning problems for the restaurant’s most recent delay.
In other news; former BoLou alum, Troy Andrian, whose acrimonious split from the company came after a tumultuous tenure as General Manager, has been enjoying his role as VP of Operations over at Pizzana since joining the celebrity hotspot and personal caterers for the Loughlin/Giannulli fam in September 2018; overseeing the day-to-day activities of both its bustling Brentwood location and its satellite store in WeHo…not that far frommmm, guess where?
