JUST LIKE HEAVEN’LY HASH

It wasn’t too long ago when heavenly hash was popular as rocky road. The basis of the two flavors is primarily the same: chocolate, almonds and marshmallow. Overtime, heavenly hash suspiciously slipped out of our mainstream consciousness with rocky road proving victorious. It’s rumored to believe that the celestial flavor can only be found within the Bible belt on account the name took on socio-political interference; the growing doubt being that heaven may or may not exist. One bite of my Just Like Heavenly Hash and you may very well believe that it does…gastronomically of course. Strange as angels, I know.

PREP / COOK TIME: 15 Minutes
Makes 15 – 18 Servings

INGREDIENTS 

1 (20 Oz) Bag – Ghirardelli Bittersweet 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate

2 Cup – Heavy Cream

2 Tbs – Unsalted Butter

2 Tsp – Vanilla Extract

1 Tsp – Medaglia D'Oro Instant Espresso Coffee

¼ Tsp – Granulated Salt

1 (11.5 Oz) Box – Golden Grahams Cereal

1 (10 Oz) Bag – Mini Marshmallows

½ Cup – Honey Roasted Almonds

THE NITTY GRITTY

In a large mixing bowl, combine chocolate, salt and instant espresso. Bring heavy cream to a rapid simmer in a small saucepan at medium high heat; pour hot cream over chocolate mixture, whisk to blend. Add vanilla extract and butter; continue to whisk till ganache forms and is smooth and velvety. Add cereal, marshmallows and almonds; fold till blended. Pour mixture into a 9” x 13” baking pan lined with parchment or wax paper with enough excess to remove candy from pan once cooled; press mixture firmly into form. Let mixture cool completely for about 2 hours or overnight in the fridge. Remove candy onto cutting board; cut into squares. Lasts for about one week in the fridge in an airtight container.
